Kadyn turns 3 months

Kadyn was 3 months old as of yesterday. She is beginning to try to communicate using language a bit more. She makes all sorts of noises and tries to mimic the noises we make. As soon as I get a good video of her doing this, I will post it.

Kadyn had a great first Christmas thanks to all her friends and family that sent gifts (although she was more interested in the paper). We spent the morning opening presents and then we went for a walk. After that, we had dinner together. It was a very quiet, peaceful Christmas and while we missed everyone, it was perfect.

Kadyn rolled over today!!!

Kadyn rolled over from her front to her back today for the first time. We are so excited. She is going to roll over from her back to her front any day as well. She's getting so strong.

Picture with Santa

Kadyn had her picture taken with Santa yesterday. She was a very good girl. Daddy made sure she was nice and happy so that her picture would come out great. And it did.

Bumbo seat

Today we put Kadyn in her Bumbo seat for the first time and she LOVED it. She only sat in it for about 20 minutes and then I think her neck got tired. But she really enjoyed it the whole time and it gave her great exercise.

Kadyn is 10 weeks old

Kadyn had her 2 month appointment today. She is currently 11 lbs 12 ounces, 21 3/4 inches, and is growing at a spectacular rate. Unfortunately, she had to get 2 shots today but she took them like a champ.

Portraits are made!!

Last night we all took a ride to Walmart and had Kadyn's first portraits done. I was a little concerned that it wasn't going to go well since the appointment was at 4:15 PM and that is usually the beginning of Kadyn's grouchy time. But she was a perfect angel. She LOVES the camera. And we got some great shots of her that I can't wait to share with all of you.

On Sunday, Kevin and I decorated Kadyn's first Christmas tree. She really seems to love the lights. They are mesmerizing to her. I think she will love Christmas the way Kevin and I do. We have had several busy weekends in a row so this weekend we are staying in and spending some time with eachother. Here's a picture of Kadyn in her new Christmas dress.

Cardiology Appointment

Kadyn had her follow up with the cardiologist today. He says that she still has the small hole in her heart but it's so small they can only see it on the ultrasound. He doesn't think we have to worry about it and it probably won't be there when we go back in June. She weighed in at a whopping 11 lbs 7 oz and was 22 inches long. She's getting to be a really big girl.

Yesterday Grandma and Grandpa Dunbar watched Kadyn while I went to work. They said she was a perfect angel. She slept a lot and ate a lot and generally kept them entertained. She smiles all the time now and melts everyone's hearts when she does it. Last night she slept 10 and 1/2 hours straight. We put her down at 8:30 and she didn't wake up until 7 this morning. What an amazing baby!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Kadyn's first Thanksgiving was today and although she slept through most of it, she enjoyed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Here is a picture of her watching it.

Growth Spurt

We think Kadyn may be going through a growth spurt right now. She woke up last night after only 4 hours of sleep. She hasn't slept that short of a stretch since she was 2 weeks old. She's also been eating a lot more than usual. She is scheduled for an appointment with her cardiologist on Monday 12/1, and her 2 month checkup is on 12/9. We will let you know how that goes.

Kadyn Alyce is 8 weeks old

Today Kadyn turns 8 weeks old. She is smiling more and more each day and seems to know the people around her. She's already got Daddy wrapped around her finger. This morning, she was holding her bottle on her own. More to come...
